Leh, dated 23 May 2020, Saturday

Army Chief Mukand Narwane has visited Ladakh in the wake of escalating military movements on the border by neighboring China. India needs to be vigilant. Because Pakistan is also increasing its military activities in POK. The Army Chief, while visiting Ladakh, indicated that India is ready to meet any situation on all fronts and India is fully prepared for this.

The Indian Army recently clashed with the Chinese Army in Sikkim. Since then, China has also increased the number of boats patrolling the Pegong So Lake in Ladakh, prompting India to increase its troop deployment.

Regarding the Army Chief's visit to Ladakh, sources said that India was monitoring China's moves. It is believed that both China and Pakistan are conspiring against India. According to an English newspaper report, former Deputy National Security Advisor SD Pradhan said that Pakistan and China were concerned that India was trying to recapture POK and Aksai Chin. Both these areas are important for the economic corridors of China and Pakistan and for reducing India's influence in Afghanistan. Thus China and Pakistan want to strengthen their control.

The Army Chief has also visited the Kashmir border earlier. For the first time since the Doklama chapter, tensions between India and China have been seen to this extent. India shares borders with China in Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
