The US official said this while expressing concern over the situation of Muslims in India

A senior official of the International Religious Freedom Commission, an organization that advocates for religious freedom around the world, said the United States has seen an unfortunate incident linked to the persecution and rhetoric of Muslims in India.

The anti-Muslim sentiment in India has also increased due to fake news and misinformation on social media, said Sam Brownback, US Ambassador to the International Religious Freedom Commission. However, the US ambassador lauded the appeal of senior Indian officials to maintain unity during the Corona virus epidemic.

Brownback was speaking to reporters on Thursday about the effects of the Corona virus on the world's religious minorities. "We have seen incidents in India involving Kovid-19, particularly those associated with rhetoric and harassment against the Muslim community," he said. There have been a number of incidents in which Muslims have been accused of spreading the Corona virus.

The US official said, however, that statements attached to the appeal for unity by senior Indian officials have boosted our confidence in India. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said that it is absolutely true that Kovid-19 does not see religion, language, boundaries.
