The fifth phase of the lockdown is set to begin in the country on Monday, but in this phase the government has made preparations for wide-ranging concessions across the country. There are fears that the lockdown will remain in name only. However, senior virus expert V. Ravi said the number of Corona cases would skyrocket if the lockdown was removed from the country. If the lockdown 3.0 ends after May 31, the number of corona cases will increase rapidly from June and the spread of corona at the community level will increase, so that by the end of December, half of the country's population will have been affected by corona. However, 80 per cent do not even know they have a corona infection.

The head of the neurovirology department of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NIMHANS) and the nodal officer of the task force formed by the Karnataka government on the corona virus epidemic, V. Ravi has warned about Corona’s community spread in the country. He said that only 8-10 per cent of the cases would require high-flow oxygen treatment and only 5 per cent would need a ventilator. He advised the states that they should prepare a health structure.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has also directed the state governments to set up at least two testing labs in all the districts. Karnataka has become the first state in the country to meet the target of 20 labs. Regarding the corona mortality rate in the country, V Ravi said that it has been 2-3 per cent in the country. Gujarat has the highest mortality rate of 8%. We will have to wait until March next year for the vaccine. People will learn to live life with Kovid-12 with all kinds of precautions. Corona viruses are not as deadly as Ebola, SARS and Mars.
