Scattered wedding ceremonies are also being held in the lockdown wearing masks but there is a lot of talk in UP about the feat performed by a young woman to get married.

Goldie, a 19-year-old resident of Kanpur district, walked 12 hours to her husband Virendra Rathore's village, 80 km away, to get married.

Goldie had to leave home alone because of repeated marriages. Everyone was shocked to see her father-in-law. He was nevertheless welcomed and then the in-laws spoke to Goldie's family.

With the permission of both the families, the marriage of Goldie and Virendra was also held immediately in the village temple. "My wedding was on May 4," Goldie said. However, it was avoided due to the lockdown. After Lockdown 4 was implemented, I decided not to let Corona's epidemic get in the way of marriage. So I left home with a small bag without telling anyone.
