Positive Impact of Lockdown: Worldwide Carbon Dioxide Emissions Decline

Kensington, Ta. 20 May 2020, Wednesday

Worldwide carbon emissions have dropped by about 17 percent since the lockdown to prevent the corona virus. According to a study, the global epidemic has had a positive effect on the lockdown applied to prevent the spread of the corona virus. Last month saw a 17 percent drop in global carbon dioxide emissions. What is special is that this is the largest reduction in carbon emissions since World War II.

Scientists believe that this will normalize public life. According to scientists, pollution has been reduced for some time in the context of climate change. However this reduction would be similar to ‘a drop in the ocean’.

In a study of carbon dioxide emissions during the global Corona virus epidemic, a team of scientists concluded that pollution levels were declining. Pollution levels this year will be between four and seven percent, which is lower than last year.

Scientists believe that if a worldwide lockdown is announced throughout the year, pollution levels could drop by up to seven percent. In just one week in April, the United States cut its carbon dioxide emissions by a third, according to the report. China, the world's largest carbon emitter, reduced its carbon emissions by about a quarter in February, while India and Europe reduced it by 26 and 27 per cent, respectively.
