Odd-even shops will open in Delhi ...? On the issue of lockdown, the Kejriwal government sent a proposal to the Center

New delhi date. 15 May 2020, Friday

The third phase of the nationwide lockdown is coming to an end on May 17, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already signaled that the lockdown will be extended. He said people would have to comply with the lockdown this time around. The government has given much thought to the number of exemptions available in Delhi after May 17. It is learned that the government is planning to open a mall, shopping complex in the national capital on an odd-even basis.

Will the shops open in Odd-Even mode?

While Delhi has adopted an odd-even formula for transporting vehicles, there is talk of implementing the same formula for shops in a possible fourth phase of lockdown. If this happens, half of the shops in malls, markets, shopping complexes in the national capital will open one day and the other half will open the next day.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that more than five lakh people of Delhi had given their suggestions on how much concession should be given in future. It also asked some people to open some shops in the mall.

The central government sought suggestions from the states

Taking into account the suggestions of the people, the Delhi government has prepared a proposal informing the central government about the amount of concessions to be given after May 17. It may be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier written letters to the Chief Ministers of various states directing them to inform by May 15 whether any innovation could be adopted if the lockdown was extended after May 17. Later, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sought suggestions from Delhiites on the matter.

Delhiites suggested

The people of Delhi demanded the introduction of bus, metro, auto and taxi services in compliance with social distance in the instructions given by phone, WhatsApp and e-mail. Most suggested closing schools and educational institutions until the summer holidays. But people are still not in favor of opening salons, restaurants, cinema halls.
