Now the threat of 'Banana Corona' on bananas, India could be a hot spot

Banana covid is now a threat to the banana crop when people are annoyed by the corona.

The disease does not cause any harm to humans but it is likely to cause banana crop failure. Scientifically it is known as Fusarium wilt TR Four.

This is a type of fungus that can damage the banana crop. India has the largest banana crop in the world. The disease was first reported in Taiwan. It has now spread to the Middle East, Africa and Latin American countries.

"We can also call Fusarium wilt TR4 a corona virus for bananas," says S Umanu, director of the National Research Center of Banana. Because it is damaging the banana crop all over the world. The disease is likely to affect UP and Bihar. Efforts are being made to prevent it but it is not known how successful it will be.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has described Fusarium wilt TR-IV as the world's deadliest disease of farm produce. Because there is currently no way to stop it and there is no cure for it.

The way to quarantine to avoid corona is to quarantine the plant to prevent the disease in that way. The disease has devastated 1.96 lakh crore banana plantations all over the world. Banana is a fruit that is eaten all over the world.

India produces 2700 crore kg of bananas every year. Fusarium wilt TR destroys four diseased banana common species. Which is eaten the most. One of these species is the yellow banana. This species is called Grand Nain.

Scientists are investigating how the disease originated in India. Although the disease is not new. He wiped out a banana variety, Gross Mitchell, in 1950.
