The ongoing controversy over the recovery of labor special train fares, which was started to send laborers trapped in another state due to the lockdown, is raging. Several opposition parties, including the Congress, have lashed out at the government over the issue, accusing it of not caring about the poor. Railways then say that they are charging only normal fare from the state government, which is only 15 per cent of the total cost of this journey. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has also targeted the central government over the issue.
Priyanka Gandhi tweeted, Labor is the creator of the nation. But today they are in so much trouble, this is a cause of sorrow for the whole country. While we can repatriate Indians stranded abroad by providing free service on planes, we can spend Rs 100 crore from the state exchequer in the Namaste Trump program. When the Railway Minister can donate Rs 151 crore to the PM Care Fund, Why can't travel be facilitated? The Indian National Congress has decided that the Congress will bear all the expenses incurred in the train travel of domestic workers.
Workers are nation builders. But today they are stumbling step by step - this is the cause of self-suffering for the whole country.

But, Indian Railways has issued guidelines for the state government and said that people traveling in these trains should have a ticket fare. It also said that the trains will be started when 90 per cent of the seats are full.
