India has condemned the Pakistan Supreme Court's decision to hold general elections in Gilgit and Baltistan. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has made it clear to Islamabad that Jammu and Kashmir, including Gilgit and Baltistan, and the Ladakh region are an integral part of India. Pakistan should give up the occupation of this illegally occupied area. Two days ago, the government of Gilgit-Baltistan was allowed to conduct research on the 2018 order, but the people of Gilgit and Baltistan are fed up with Pakistan.

After the partition of India, in November 1947, Pakistan, in the guise of a tribe, attacked and tried unsuccessfully to occupy Jammu and Kashmir. At that time, Raja Harisinh of Jammu and Kashmir signed the treaty of alliance with India and the Indian army killed the Pakistani tribesmen. In the meantime, the occupation that remained due to the ceasefire is still with Pakistan.

When India was divided, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit and Baltistan were part of King Harisinh's rule. In 1935, the British leased a 60-year lease to a British agency called Gilgit. The lease was revoked and returned to Harisinh by the British on 1 August 1947. The document of annexation of Jammu and Kashmir was legally annexed to India by the then King Harisinh. With this Gilgit and Baltistan faced the revolt of local commander Mirza Hasan Khan after Harisinh's return.

Khan unilaterally declared the independence of Gilgit-Baltistan on 2 November 1947. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Pakistan planned to attack Kashmir. However, two months earlier, Harisinh had annexed the whole of Kashmir to India. At the same time, Gilgit-Baltistan automatically became part of India. However, Pakistan managed to invade the area in the guise of a tribe. Pakistan refers to this whole territory as Azad Kashmir liberated from India while India calls it Ghulam Kashmir. However, it is not justifiable to call it just Kashmir as it also includes the Jammu region.

A ceasefire was ordered by the UN during the Indo-Pak War in 1947. The status quo maintained by both countries in Kashmir is known as the Line of Control. This is called LOC (Line of Actual Control) in English. To understand the area across the LOC is called POK i.e. Pakistan Occupy Kashmir. Pakistan has divided this POK into three parts. One is Azad Kashmir, the other is Gilgit-Baltistan, and the third is China. Expansionist China has even built railways and road lines in the gifted area.

The game that Pakistan has played with China on Kashmir is also understandable. In 1962, there was a war between India and China in which China annexed some area of ​​Ladakh. This area is called Aksai Chin. However, Aksai Chin is considered to be part of Gilgit-Baltistan. In 1963, Pakistan ceded 1,900 square miles of POK's Gilgit-Baltistan to China. Pakistan split the POK in two more in 2009, naming one Gilgit-Baltistan and the other Azad Kashmir, which is part of Jammu. The Siachen Glacier is an area between China's Gilgit-Baltistan and Indian-administered Kashmir. Which is occupied by India which was once a part of Kashmir.

Eighty-five per cent of enslaved Kashmir is in Gilgit and Baltistan

The total area of ​​Kashmir under Pakistan's illegal occupation is 5134 miles or 13296 square kilometers. Muzaffarabad is the capital of the area with a total of 10 districts. Gilgit-Baltistan also has an area of ​​28174 square miles i.e. 72970 square km. Gilgit-Baltistan covers 85% of the territory of Jammu and Kashmir annexed by Pakistan. Gilgit-Baltistan also has 10 districts. Although Gilgit-Baltistan is a part of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan has kept it separate. The total population of these two areas is around 60 lakhs. Gilgit-Baltistan was also called the Northern Area. People from both regions have their own legislatures. Technically the area is not part of the Pakistan Union but both areas are ruled by the Pak government and the army. The people of both these areas are fed up with Pakistan. Muzaffarabad's Ghulam Kashmir area is Sunni while Gilgit-Pakistan has a large Shia Muslim population. Pakistan is making Shiites a minority by persecuting them. This place has become hell, especially for liberals and Shia Sufis.

The game being played in Gilgit-Baltistan has a very big khandi move by China. China has built a corridor in the area to connect with the port of Gwadar, also known as the Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is likely to benefit only China. When China was reluctant to build CIPAC in the disputed area, it made China happy by creating its 5th area. Pakistan is now mired in China's debt. Here, whenever the locals oppose the Chinese movement and the people, the Pakistani army oppresses them and not only that, but also the anti-terrorism clause is imposed.

Chinese troops patrol day and night to protect the Chinese project. China is exploiting the region's natural resources while Pakistan is turning a blind eye to the area. Gilgit-Baltistan, which encompasses the Indus River, has very high mountain peaks. Gilgit is a beautiful area surrounded by small and big hills of Karakoram. There are also two high mountains called Hindu Kush and Tirich Mir. It is bordered by China and Afghanistan, Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to the east, and India's Kashmir to the east, including Siachen, the world's largest battlefield. Due to its geographical importance to India, China and Pakistan, the area has become a hotbed.

When Pakistan declared the Gilgit area as its fifth territory in 2018, India did not bother to protest. It is also a violation of the Shimla Agreement with India in 1972 and now seeing India's tough stance, it has started calling for the Shimla Agreement again. According to UN rules 1948-49, the army was to be withdrawn, but instead Pakistan has changed the demographics of the entire region. A resolution was passed in the British Parliament from Bob Blackman, a British Conservative MP, stating that Pakistan had illegal occupation of Gilgit-Baltistan. This area is not his. India has also said many times that Gilgit-Baltistan is not the only area under its illegal occupation.

Pakistan wants to annex the whole of Kashmir, not half of it, but explains to India that India is an integral part of India by giving historical and political contexts. In fact, in the name of advocating for Kashmir, Pakistan is fooling not only the Kashmiris but also the entire people of its country. Whenever he is in trouble, he distracts the people by chewing on the Kashmir issue. Even though Kashmir is well aware of Pakistan's rule that it will never meet today, it has deprived the people of development by showing India's fear. The anti-India force has always kept Oki drunk. Russia was in the Cold War with the United States when it was the Soviet Union. The jihadi elements that the Soviet Union nurtured in Afghanistan to drive out the army are now turning into ashes and intimidating Pakistan.

Pakistan, which has received crores of aid from the US in the name of fighting terrorism, is no longer trusted by the US. US aid has been cut off as Pakistani politicians have misused money. Pakistan as a country is facing the biggest economic crisis. The maneuver of celebrating Eid with borrowed money is now bothering him.
