Knowing the relief for the country amid the Corona crisis, grain production will be higher than last year

There has been good news for the country amid the Corona virus and lockdown. On Friday, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the record production of foodgrains in the year 2019-20 is estimated to be 295.67 metric tonnes. If compared to last year 2018-19, this time 10.46 metric tons more grain can be produced.

According to new figures from the Ministry of Agriculture, India's foodgrain production is projected to reach a record 295.67 metric tonnes in 2019-20, the fourth consecutive year. Record production is projected in rice, wheat, coarse grains, oilseeds, cotton during the year 2019-20 (July-June).

The ministry estimates that the total foodgrain production in the country is a record 295.67 metric tonnes, which is 10.46 metric tonnes more than the 285.21 metric tonnes produced during the year 2018-19. This year, rice production is projected to reach a record 117.94 metric tonnes and wheat production a record 107.18 metric tonnes.
