Economic Package Part-2 Live: Preparing to give minimum wage rights to workers-Finance Minister

New delhi date. 14 May 2020, Thursday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a lockdown-4 and a Rs 20 lakh crore relief package for the country. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is giving detailed information on what is included in the relief package.

Important point of the press conference

- Executive, small farmers will be associated with migrant workers Today's package: Finance Minister

- States were allowed to use disaster funds

- The duration of the interest submission scheme has been extended till May 31. Along with this, 25 lakh farmers will be given Kisan credit cards

- Migrant laborers are being given jobs in MNREGA. 2.33 crore migrant workers will get jobs in the panchayat. The number of applications in MNREGA has gone up by 50 per cent to Rs 202 per day.

- Meals and accommodation are being arranged for the urban poor. Homeless people living in urban areas are being given three meals a day in a shelter home with central government money.
