Did US President Donald Trump call the Pulitzer Prize winner a thief?

New York, May 8, 2020, Friday

US President George W. Trump on Thursday called for the return of the Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper and its journalists to the highest honors of journalism for its coverage of the investigation into Russia's interference in the US elections. Joseph Pulitzer This award is considered to be the Nobel in the world of journalism not only in America but also in the world for his significant contribution in the field of literature and music in addition to journalism. The award was founded in 1917 by Joseph Pulitzer, an American publisher of Hungarian descent.

In 2016, a US newspaper covered Russia's collusion and interference in the presidential election. Trump angrily told the White House Oval Office that the recipient of the award was not a journalist but a thief and that he had no right to keep the awards. Trump believes that the documents that are currently coming to light prove that there was no collusion with Russia during the 2016 elections. The remarks came as the Justice Department rejected allegations against retired General Michael Flynn, a former adviser to Trump.

Relations between US President Donald Trump and the media have always been strained by a large section of the American media who have been opposed to Trump's policies and behavior. Trump's criticism of the Pulitzer Prize is also being seen as a form of disagreement between the media and the White House. Trump believes it would be a shame to receive an award for a cover story that was not true. In fact, the Pulitzer Prize should be awarded for news that is truly true, for which it has a long list.

Trump also said Michael Flynn was an innocent man but the Obama administration targeted him. These journalists were following the elected president who has never done so in the history of America so the culprits will have to pay a heavy price. Donald Trump has never been with friends in the media, so he never misses an opportunity to tell the truth. His displeasure is natural as the US media raises the issue of health care and mismanagement in the wake of the Corona crisis.
