Corona: Father kills son in Madhya Pradesh for not completing quarantine

Balaghat, Ta. 7 May 2020, Thursday

In Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, a father beat his son to death with a stick when he came home without completing the quarantine. The father, agitated for fear that the transition from Hyderabad to the village and home would not spread due to his son, refused to let his son enter the house and stubbornly killed him. The murder of a young man named Tekchand at the Balaghat fort is the first of its kind in the country. The accused father was arrested on Wednesday after his son was killed.

Tekchand is located in his village from Hyderabad

Rupchand, brother of the deceased, said Tekchand had gone to Secunderabad in February to do labor. He left with his fellow laborers a week ago after the lockdown took effect. On May 1, they reached Baihar where they were kept in quarantine for one day and then in Gram Panchayat Kugaon for two days. On the third day, all the people were sent home to be kept in seclusion.

Killed his son who insisted on staying at home

When Tekchand reached home on May 3, father Bhimalal told him to stay in the village quarantine center for a few more days for fear of Koro's infection. The matter led to a dispute between the father and son and the father hit the son 3-4 times on the head with an animal peg so that he was injured and died during treatment at the hospital.

In rural areas of the country, his fear is spreading more horrible torment than illness and the killing of his son by a father is an example of this. A father killed his son, a piece of his care, out of fear that he might infect the house and the village. As soon as the incident was reported, the police registered a case against the father and arrested him.
