Clashes between police and Naxals in Chhattisgarh, 4 Naxals shot dead, SI martyred

A clash between police and Naxalites took place late Friday night in Madanwada Thana area of ​​Naxal-affected Rajnandgam district of Chhattisgarh. Four Naxalites have been killed in the clashes while Sub-Inspector Shyam Kishore Sharma has succumbed to his injuries. According to ASP Naxal Operation GN Baghel, the Naxalites, who were already ready when the police team went out to search the forests in the evening, started firing.

In response, the police started firing back and as soon as the news of the clash was received, a supporting team including SP Jitendra Shukla reached Manpur. It was learned that a clash between police and Naxalites lasted for about an hour in the forests of Pardoni village in Manpur Thana area in which two women and two Naxalites were killed.

The bodies of the four Naxalites were being taken to the district headquarters after the clash and an AK-47 rifle, an SLR and two .315 bore rifles were seized from them. Earlier, on July 12, 2009, 29 jawans, including SP VK Chaubey, were killed in a Naxal attack in the area.
