Carrying two innocent children in a yoke, the working family walked 1300 km

New Delhi, May 18, 2020, Monday

The world is devastated by the Corona virus, but the plight of millions of workers has worsened. Workers have had to migrate en masse as the lockdown period has dragged on for a long time. A family of 8 people from Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh has set out to travel 1300 km to Chhattisgarh. The picture of the family carrying their two children in a yoke has gone viral, just as Shravan took his parents on a yoke. Although Shravan had voluntarily traveled to Chardham to pay off the debts of his parents, this yatra was nothing but a compulsion for the workers.

Thousands of people are walking on small and big roads and highways in a country where unemployment is rising due to lockdown. Tragic stories that cannot be seen in the atmosphere of Afra Tafari are eye-watering. When there is no hope of a train or a private vehicle, the workers start walking on the road. It keeps on going without thinking about when and how it will be delivered. In the scorching heat, it stands wherever there is shade on the road. It doesn't matter where the food or water comes from or who gives it. It is extremely painful to see one picture after another of workers in the country. Although the epidemic of Corona virus was for all, the country's workers have suffered the most.

Dissatisfaction among the workers continues even though trains have been run for the workers and buses have also been run. Still demanding train and bus to go home. There are more than 80 million workers in India who migrate to Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka on a large scale for employment but are in a hurry to return to their homeland as the Kovid-19 epidemic has taken away their jobs.
