Dubai, Ta. 13 April 2020, Monday

The United Arab Emirates plans to impose sanctions on countries that do not repatriate foreign nationals trapped there in view of the Corona virus epidemic. According to a report, the UAE is considering restoring its cooperation and labor relations with such countries.

There are about 33 million Indian tourists in the UAE, which is about 30 percent of the total population of the country. The highest number of people from the Indian states in the UAE live in Kerala, followed by Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Currently the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratesization is considering implementing future sanctions and quota systems on the recruitment of workers from countries that do not call their citizens homeland. It also plans to suspend the letters of consent between the respective authorities and the ministry of such countries.

UAE Ambassador to India Rehman Al Banna said that in fact, the UAE has introduced the return of Indians trapped there and the citizens of other countries if their Covid-19 report comes out negative. The UAE's Foreign and International Cooperation Ministry has sent a letter to the embassies of all countries present in their country in the last two weeks, including the Indian Embassy. At the same time, the Indian Foreign Ministry has also been informed.

According to Banna, the UAE has submitted a report to those seeking return home and assured them that they have the best facilities, check centers. More than five million people have been investigated in the UAE and for some reason the people trapped in the UAE are being given the confidence to return by plane. In India, airports are closed and due to lockdown, some people are trapped while some have been there for travel.

Those who come to report positive will be treated in the UAE. It is worth mentioning that the Kerala High Court on Saturday sought reply from the Central Government seeking to declare a directive to return the Indians trapped in the Gulf countries.
