The Corona virus has been shown to cause huge damage to India's tourism department and could result in the loss of employment of some 400 million people belonging to the region. According to a report, all flights coming from overseas due to corona virus are closed and local transport has also been stopped. All tourist destinations have to be locked. Meanwhile, the tourism department is estimated to suffer a loss of around Rs 5 lakh crore.

It is reported that at present all is closed due to lockdown but even after lockdown is completed, it may take up to September to start according to the tourism sector and this will cause huge loss to those involved. Among the travel operators, there are many who have the ability to pay up to six months even if no work is started, while others do not have enough capacity which has led thousands of people to become unemployed.

The worst case scenario is people who do not have a permanent salary but are spending every day earning. There is a very large group of tourist guides, parking contractors, cleaners, waiters working at the restaurant, people delivering vegetables, other food delivery in the hotel which will be most affected. For such people, the spread of the virus is proving to be a snap as well as employment. Currently those who are involved in employment in various sectors are being harmed but those who are looking for employment will also be affected. If this situation is to be met then at least one crore new jobs will have to be created in the coming days.

According to an estimate by the Indian Industry Association, the branded hotel group is estimated to have suffered a loss of 1.5 lakh crore. The online travel agency could suffer Rs 1 crore, tour operators Rs 1 crore, adventure tour operators Rs 1 crore and cruise tourism at Rs 1 crore. A loss of around Rs 5 lakh crore can only hurt the tourism sector, while other sectors are likely to be even bigger.
