Suggest Kerala Center to remove phase-lockdown in the country

The Union Home Ministry on Friday sought various suggestions from the states for further action while Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that a seven-day nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of Kovid-1 in the fight against Corona is ending on April 5th. Some states have proposed to phase out lockdown in Kerala to extend lockdown.

The Union Home Ministry sought various suggestions from the states on lockdown, including the need for more concessions in various categories and services. The Home Ministry said the agriculture department has been exempted from the lockdown and asked the states to continue planting and harvesting activities. Some states suggested that construction-related activities should be allowed in rural areas. Some states also pointed out that the supply of essential commodities in various parts of the country was being depleted.

Some states said that the transport of essential commodities and non-essential cargo in the country was exempt from lockdown, but the supply chain of agricultural products was lost due to lack of trucks and workers. Some states, including Kerala, recommended a phase-out lockdown. Some other states recommended to allow the sale of liquor in order to increase revenue and allow private vehicles on an audible basis. Most states, however, suggested keeping public transport, rail and airline services closed for longer. Several states also recommended sealing borders of states. Some states suggested that lockdowns be implemented in certain areas with stricter restrictions in areas known as hotspots for the spread of the Corona virus.

Hydroxychloroquine adequate stock in the country: center

The country has adequate stock of hydroxychloroquine and the government is taking adequate care to ensure that there is no shortage in view of the proliferation of corona, the central government said on Friday. Questions have been raised about the government's decision to allow the drug to be exported to social media, following reports that India has approved the export of hydroxychloroquine following the threat of US President Donald Trump. In this regard, Chairman of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Shubhra Singh said, "There is a substantial amount of hydroxychloroquine in the country and we are monitoring the demand, availability and production on a daily basis. He added that India is the largest producer of this drug and about 8% of global demand is produced in India. This drug is mainly used to treat diseases like arthritis, malaria and lupus. However, the current demand for corona treatment has increased its demand worldwide following reports of the drug being effective.
