Prime Minister, cabinet ministers and MPs pay 30% reduction in salary for one year

The Narendra Modi government has taken a major decision on Monday to fight the Corona, the government has decided to cut 30 percent of the salaries of all Cabinet Ministers and MPs, including the Prime Minister, and the cuts will be a year, Prakash Javadekar said. The government will issue an order today.

He said that the President, the Vice-President and the Governors of the States have voluntarily decided to cut salaries as a social responsibility, the funds will be deposited in the Consolidated Fund of the country.

In addition, he said that an amendment to the wages, allowances, and pensions of the members of the Parliament Article 1954 of the Central Cabinet has been approved.

Prakash Javadekar said that the Cabinet has temporarily suspended MPLAD funds received by MPs for 2020-21 and 2021-22 for the management of adverse effects of Covid 19 in India. For 79 years, Rs. 7900 crores of MPLAD funds will be used in India's consolidated funds.
