New weapon: IIT makes currency notes and sanitize vegetables

(PTI) New delhi date. 10 April 2020, Friday

Scientists at IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) have requested to be taken home after being exposed to various outside materials, by means of ultraviolet rays using technology that destroys the microbes on the body.

These scientists recommend that people place this trunk-shaped tool at the main entrance of their home as part of our fight against the Corona virus. In addition to any vegetables, milk packets, home-delivery items brought from the market, items of currency note, purse-wallet-wallet, wrist-watch, mobile phone and paper-document, etc., should be placed in this box. A sanitizer liquid is placed in the box to make all of the above work, which will sanitize the items in the box. Items will be sanitized within 5 minutes after being placed in the archive. Then let it cool for 5 minutes, then get things out of the box, ”Naresh Rakha, a senior scientific officer at the IIT's office, told the news agency.

The device, which has been used in ultraviolet germicidal irradiation technology used in water purifiers, is likely to be available for less than Rs 5 after being marketed commercially. Scientists are advised not to look directly at the lights in the instrument because it is harmful. Rakha said that in the battle against Corona, one has to be careful about everything possible.
