Lockdown may be extended till April 30, Kejriwal announces decision taken at meeting

While the 21-day lockdown period given by the Corona crisis has come to an end, 10 out of 11 state chief ministers have appealed to PM Modi to extend the lockdown deadline. These include Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, West Bengal and Delhi.

Prime Minister Modi today met with the Chief Minister through video conferencing to discuss the duration of lockdown. He was also seen wearing a mask in a conversation with the chief minister through PM Modi video conferencing.

The 21-day nationwide lockdown is set to end on April 14 to prevent the transmission of the Corona virus. It may be mentioned that the Odisha government has decided to increase lockdown by April 30 and Punjab government by May 1.

After the meeting is over, Kejriwal tweeted that it has now become final that PM Modi has decided to step up the lockdown. Lockdown in the country will extend till April 30th. An official announcement is expected now.
