This doctor's claim, honored by Padma Bhushan, will win India's fight against Corona

New Delhi, 31 March 2020 Tuesday

Amid rumors of an outbreak of corona virus spread across the country, internationally renowned medical expert Doctor Nageshwar Reddy has claimed that India will win the war against the Corona virus.

Padma Bhushan-awarded Doctor Reddy is currently the Chairman of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in 2016. He said that India should not hold lockdown for more than three to four weeks.

According to media reports, Doctor Reddy says Corona is an RNA virus. When the virus spread to Italy, the United States or India, its genotype was isolated. Sequencing of the entire virus has been performed in four countries. First America, second Italy, third China and fourth India.

According to Reddy, it is now becoming known that the virus is a different genome in India compared to Italy. The Indian virus has a single mutation in the genome's spike protein. There have been three mutations in the virus spread across Italy. Of which this has proved fatal to those people.

Doctor Nageshwara Reddy said there were other reasons for this fatality in Italy. Some patients are over 70-80 years old. It also includes causes like cigarettes, alcohol, diabetes, blood pressure.

So the death rate here is 10% higher than normal, whereas in India, America and China, the death rate is only 2%. There are variations in mortality and infection rates depending on the genome of the virus. The immune system is also playing a key role in this.
