The Government of India has brought back 400 people trapped in Iran and Italy

New Delhi, Mar 15, 2020, Sunday

The Indian government is sending back 400 planes to Italy and Iran in the middle of a ravaged Corona virus.

So far, the government has brought back 234 Indians trapped in these countries. Including 131 students and 103 pilgrims. All these people have been repatriated from Iran.



External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted the thank you to the Iranian ambassador and the entire team involved in the campaign. The third batch of Indians was back on Sunday morning. The second batch returned to India earlier Friday. 218 people are being brought back to India from Italy.

Thus, while other countries of the world are hesitant to bring back their tourists, the Indian government is conveying that it is committed to bring back Indians from other countries.
