Srinagar, Mar 13, 2020, Friday
Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah, was imprisoned since the removal of Article 370;
However, the law has now been abolished and Farooq Abdullah has finally been released. With the immediate effect, he has now been released from the confinement of his residence.
Farooq Abdullah, 82, was kept in custody since his removal to 370 on August 5th last year. The PSA was imposed on them on September 15, shortly after the end of the detention period, which was later extended to December 13.
The period that was extended in December was completed by midnight on Friday. Under this law, Farooq Abdullah was prosecuted. Omar Abdullah is the first former chief minister to have been prosecuted under the PSA. A similar action is currently underway against Omar Abdullah.
On the other hand, after lifting his sanctions and getting rid of his detention, Farooq Abdullah told the media that "I am free today but this freedom will be fulfilled only when Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and others will be freed in the same way." "I am grateful to all those who have raised my voice in and out of Parliament," said Lok Sabha MP from Srinagar.
