Of the only 3 white giraffes in the world, 2 hunters were killed

In 2017 a photo of a giraffe and its cub was circulated on the Internet.

Because the giraffe was not as brown as the other giraffes, but also quite white. However, the sad report now is that out of just three such giraffes, the female and her cub hunters have been killed.

Their bodies have been found in a village in northeastern Kenya. Only one such giraffe survives and now it is the only white giraffe in the world.

According to the forest department, two giraffes who died were seen three months ago. This is a sad day for the whole of Kenya.

The giraffe population is also declining, according to the Africa Wildlife Foundation. Hunters are killing them for mass and skin. The number of giraffes in 1985 was 1.55 lakhs. It has now dropped to 97000.

The dying white giraffes had a genetic defect. Due to which their skin color was white.
