New delhi date. 19 March 2020, Thursday

The Supreme Court has rejected the curatorial plea of guilty Pawan Gupta in the Nirbhaya case of December 16, 2012 in the capital city of Delhi.

A hearing was held in a six-judge chamber today on a curative petition of guilty Pawan Gupta in the Supreme Court. In the petition, Pawan Gupta argued that he was a minor at the time of the crime.

Pawan Gupta had earlier filed a reconsideration petition in the Supreme Court. At that time Pavan challenged the order dismissing his demand, arguing that he was a minor at the time of the crime. The Supreme Court had also rejected the application. Subsequently, the plaintiff's lawyer AP Singh also wrote to the International Court to stop the execution and demanded that all records be kept to him. The Supreme Court has denied the plea of being a minor in the crime at the same time as not all four accused of Nirbhaya will be hanged tomorrow morning at 5.30 pm.

On March 5, the Delhi trial court issued a death warrant for the four criminals to be hanged on the 20th. This is the fourth death warrant ever to go into effect. On the other hand, with the execution time approaching, all the four criminals are getting confused and are trying to escape.

Mukesh, 32, Pawan, 25, Vinay, 26, and Akshay, 31, will be hanged at 5.30am on Friday morning. It will be the first time in Tihar Jail that four criminals will be hanged at once. This is also going to be the first time when compared to the largest prisons in South Asia.

There were a total of six offenders in the case. One has died in jail while one has been released as a minor. So all four of the survivors will also end up on Friday. The executioner named Wind will execute all four criminals. His grandfather hanged Indira Gandhi's killers and Ranga Billa.
