Nirbhaya case: The culprits to be hanged in ICJ, sentenced to 20 May

New delhi date. March 16, 2020, Monday

The culprits will be hanged on March 20 in the Narbhaya case. Earlier, the convicts were trying all legal means to escape. Three of the four convicts have surrendered to Akshay, Pawan and Vinay International Court of Justice (ICJ) and have sought to halt the death sentence. The plaintiff's lawyer said the case has been kept in the ICJ. What was being done in favor of the guilty was ignored. So some foreign NGOs have taken up the case. However, the execution is not expected to have any effect on March 20.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court rejected the plea of guilty Mukesh in which he sought to reinstate all his legal remedies by stating that his old lawyer had been misled. The Supreme Court said that Mukesh's plea of guilty in the Nirbhaya case opposing the restoration of all legal remedies is not considered.

Nirbhaya's mother, Ashadevi, said the court knows how often the execution was carried out, this is the fourth death warrant. Now he has no choice but I am confident that he will be hanged on March 20.
