In Uttar Pradesh, 28 died in rain-related incidents

A total of 28 people, including women and children, have been killed in various rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday. Uttar Pradesh has received heavy rainfall since Thursday.

Information department director Shishir said 28 people were killed in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours following rain-related incidents and rains, six in Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri, three in Jaunpur and Barabanki, two in Sonbhadra, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Gorakhpur, Gorakhpur, Gorakhpur, Gorakhpur. One person was killed in Chandauli, Kanpur Dehat, Mirzapur and Balrampur.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the authorities to properly assess the damage caused to the farmers due to the hail and also to provide immediate compensation to the affected people. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that every family of those killed in the rain related incidents will get Rs. 4 lakhs compensation should be provided.
