BJP's non-repeat formula for Rajya Sabha: Digvijaya ticket cut

BJP on Wednesday announced the names of its 11 candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections. Of the list, nine are from BJP leaders, while the remaining two are from the NDA's allied party leaders. The BJP, under the no-repeal formula, has cut off the ticket of several veteran leaders in the Rajya Sabha elections and has decided to send new faces to the Rajya Sabha instead.

The BJP has announced the names of two candidates from Gujarat, 2 from Maharashtra and 2 from Assam. On the other hand, the names of candidates from Madhya Pradesh Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur and Rajasthan have been announced.

Five seats are being held in Bihar, out of which three are now occupied by JDU and two by BJP. R. from BJP. That Sinha, CP Thakur's term is coming to an end. In terms of the number of current MLAs, there is only one seat in the BJP's account, on which the party has nominated CP Thakur's son Vivek Thakur.

In Gujarat, BJP occupies three of the four seats in Rajya Sabha. The tenure of members like BJP's Lalsinh Vadodia, Shambu Prasad Tundia and Chunibhai Gohel is coming to an end. The BJP has offered new members instead of these old members of the Rajya Sabha. In terms of statistics, BJP-Congress accounts have two seats, but BJP has started exercising for the third seat.

Madhya Pradesh's three Rajya Sabha seats are vacant, with Prabhat Jha and Satyanarayan Jatiya from BJP quota and Digvijay Singh's term in Congress ending. The BJP has fielded Jyotiraditya Scindia from the Congress instead of its previous provisions. The BJP has cut the tickets of both its giants Prabhat Jha and Satyanarayan Jatiya.

Rajasthan's 3 Rajya Sabha seats are being vacated, all these seats are occupied by BJP. Instead of Narayan Lal Pancharia, Vijay Goyal and Ramnarayan Doody, the BJP has given a new face. In terms of current numbers, Congress may get two seats and BJP one seat.

Seven seats of Rajya Sabha are being vacated in Maharashtra, two of them in the NCP, one Congress, one Shiv Sena, one BJP and one RPI and one in the Independent. Ramdas Athavale and Amar Shankar Sambale of RPI from BJP quota are members of Rajya Sabha.

The BJP has cut the ticket of Sambale and Udayan Raj has decided to give Bhansale a chance instead. Assam is being held on three seats in Assam. The BJP has decided to field a candidate in two seats. BJP has given ticket to Bhubaneswar Kalita instead of Sanjay Singh from Congress.
