Thiruvananthapuram, Tal. March 7, 2020, Saturday

While the coronavirus has increased the problems of people all over the world, bird flu in Kerala has also lifted its head and the state government declared a high alert.

As soon as bird flu is reported, chickens and pet birds will be killed in two villages in Kozhikot district in Kerala, a senior official of the state animal husbandry department said today.

Only one month after the first three cases of India's coronavirus were reported and successfully cured in Kerala, bird flu raises its head. There have been 30 cases of coronavirus reported across India.

All three patients from Kerala were reported to be recovering very fast. Minister of State for Forests and Animal Husbandry K. Raju filled out a meeting to review the status and take coordination measures.

The suspicion of poultry dying two days ago in Kodiyatur and Wangari village raised suspicion, as a result, authorities sent samples to the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases, Bhopal, where they confirmed the avian flu.

A team comprised of top officials of the state was visiting the affected village.
