The government does not know what is called sedition: P Chidambaram

New delhi date. Saturday 29th February 2020

Veteran Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram said the Delhi government did not understand the law of sedition. This government does not know what is called treason or treason.

Chidambaram was speaking in connection with a complaint of sedition against Communist leader Kanaiya Kumar. Chidambaram was speaking about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's permission to prosecute a sedition case against former JNU student union president Kanaiya Kumar.

On Saturday morning, Chidambaram tweeted that the Kejriwal government, like the central government, has no understanding of the law of sedition. I strongly oppose the move to file a sedition case against Kanya Kumar under sections 142A and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (Indian Criminal Code).

On Friday, Kanaiya Kumar himself tweeted that he thanked the Delhi government for allowing me to file a treason case against me. Now, instead of prosecuting the Ape Key Court like Speedy Court on TV, I request you to file a case against me at the Vidyashar Justice Temple. Satyameva Jayate...

In another tweet, Kanaiya Kumar said that if the case goes to fast track court, people will know how the politicians and the government misuse the law of treason for their short-term gain.
