Special Investigative Team launches Delhi Violence Investigation

New Delhi, February 28, 2020, Friday

The Special Investigative Team, formed by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police, launched an investigation into the violence in Delhi and appealed to the eyewitnesses and the media that you have video clips of the incident so that we can assist in the investigation.

The SIT was formed on Thursday afternoon and has been given specific responsibility. The SIT publicly requested that the media and eyewitnesses of the violence deliver their evidence within seven days. The identity of the tester will not be disclosed.

The public request stated that after February 23, any evidence relating to the violence spread in Ishaan (North East) Delhi should be submitted to the DCP's office at Silampur in Ishaan Delhi. In particular, we urge the media to provide proof. We will not disclose the details of who provided proof.

More than one SIT team was formed. The head of one team is DCP Joy Tirkey and the head of the other team is DCP Rajesh Dev. Both teams have four ACPs. Besides, there are three inspectors, four four sub inspectors and the rest are constables. BK Singh, Additional Commissioner of Crime Branch, will serve as the superintendent of the two teams.
