Sonbhadra has 3 thousand tonnes even if 150 kg of gold: GSI

New delhi date. February 22, 2020, Saturday

For the last two days, Sonbhadra of Uttar Pradesh has been the subject of discussion across the country. From newspapers to TV channels and social media, gold was also prevalent. The reason was that there was opposition to the idea that a reservoir of 3000 tonnes of gold had been recovered from Sonbhadra district.

This claim was made by the District Mining Officer. The Geological Survey of India has denied that on Saturday. Also stated that not only 3000 tonnes but only 160kg of gold is available, and 160kg is also not certain. It may not even get that much gold.

Sonbhadra district mining officer KK Rai said that GSI has received about 3000 tonnes of gold from the hills of Sonbhadra district. The value of which was estimated at 12 lakh crore. It was also reported that a seven-member committee has been formed to process the gold tendering.

Amidst all these upheavals, on Saturday, Director General of the Geological Survey of India M Shradhar said that "no such information has been provided by GSI, GSI has not estimated any such gold in Sonbhadra district".

After the official statement of GSI, 3000 tonnes of gold is known to have formed a situation like 'Khoda Pahad Nikla Chuha'. There was a lot of talk about gold that the treasury of the Uttar Pradesh government would fade, the country's recession would go away and so on.

GSI's Sridhar further said, "Only after conducting a survey with the state department, we release information about this type." We (GSI) excavated this area in the years 1998-99 and 1999-2000. The report of which was also given to the DGM of Uttar Pradesh so that they can take further action. '

He further stated that 'the excavation done for gold was not satisfactory. Also, the result of the huge quantity of gold in Sonbhadra district was not significant. '

Sridhar, who is wrong, said that the GSI has estimated a potential 52806.25 tonnes of minerals. Which has the potential to extract 3.03 grams of gold per ton. Accordingly, only 160 kg of gold cannot be obtained from this quantity or 3000 tonnes'.
