Shaheen Bagh case to be heard on Monday: Supreme Court

New delhi date. 7 February 2020, Friday

The Supreme Court on Monday announced a hearing on the protests against Muslim women running in Shaheen Bagh for the last 55 days against the new citizenship law.

The Shaheen Bagh area is an important link connecting New Delhi and Noida, and the Supreme Court has complained to the public that ambulances carrying children and the sick at school are obliged to go back and forth.

As per the earlier announcement, the Supreme Court was scheduled to hear the case on Friday. But since tomorrow is the Delhi Assembly elections, the Supreme Court said that as the run-up to the election is going on, we will hear the case on Monday.

The petitioner also requested the Supreme Court to order the police to keep an eye on the people who were delivering speeches in Shaheen Bagh as there were reports of speeches by many anti-nationals. Some speakers come here and talk about anti-nationalism and further pollute the atmosphere. It was also feared that the question of law and order would arise.

The Supreme Court on Monday announced that all these matters will be taken up after the Delhi Assembly elections are over.

Like Shahin Bagh, anti-CAA protests were taking place in many areas of the country.
