Rajya Sabha official removed from office for criticizing PM

A Rajya Sabha security officer has been sentenced for criticizing Prime Minister Modi and some members of the cabinet. An officer named Urujul Hasan has been lowered down.

As a government rule, a government employee cannot publicly criticize, in writing, against the government's policy. Employees have to follow certain norms to question government policy. The decision was taken by Venkaiah Naidu, chairman of the Rajya Sabha, for not abiding by the norms.

Hassan criticized the prime minister and ministers in more than one social media post. For this an inquiry committee was set up against him. Hassan was the deputy director in the security department. He has been demoted and will not get promotion or pay increase for five years.
