Iran stops attending IOC meeting, refuses to grant Saudi Arabia visa

Jeddah Date: February 4, 2020, Tuesday

Saudi Arabia barred Iran from attending a meeting of the Islamic Organization Council (IOC) held in Jeddah.

The meeting was to discuss US President Donald Trump's proposal for peace in the Middle East. There is currently a tussle between Iran and the United States.

After the United States killed Qadim Suleiman, a senior Iraqi military officer in an airstrike at the Baghdad airport in January, Iran continued to attack rockets and missiles at the US embassy in Baghdad. Iran was drunk on Trump's warning.

Since the idea that Trump's proposal was discussed at the IOC meeting was unacceptable, Palestine had previously made it clear that he would not attend the meeting.

Now Iran's Foreign Ministry has announced that we will not attend the meeting, Saudi Arabia said.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mausavi said Saudi Arabia had refused to grant visas to the Iranian delegation, which was going to attend the IOC meeting in Jeddah.

Iran also claimed that we were invited by the IOC's General Secretary Yusuf Ahmed Al Uthaim himself. However, Saudi Arabia refused to grant visas to our delegation. The United States also upheld the illegal Israeli rule, which the Arab countries opposed.
