Antarctica, Sat 9 Feb 2020, Sunday

Antarctica's climate is warming rapidly due to global warming, with snow covered and considered one of the coldest places in the world. The snow here is melting too fast.

Scientists have been warning Antarctica for several years, this time for the first time in the northern part of Antarctica, 18.3 degrees Celsius, which is the highest temperature ever. These figures have astounded scientists.

Normally this kind of temperature is where we live in cities like Vadodara, Ahmedabad in winter.

This temperature was recorded on Thursday at a base set up by Argentina for research.

At another location in Antarctica, the marambio site also recorded the highest temperature of 14.1 degrees Celsius. Experts say dramatic changes are occurring in Antarctica. This time the colonies of the penguins of Antarctica are also less visible.

Antarctica is one of the most affected areas of global warming in the world. In the fifty years here, temperatures have risen by up to 3 degrees.
