The American Investigation Agency arrested Charles Lieber, head of the Chemistry and Chemical Biology department at Harvard University. The court then granted bail out of a $ 1 million bond.

Charles had approved personal expenses of $ 50,000 per month, $ 6 million a year and $ 1.5 million annually in exchange for research data from China.

Charles Lieber, a Harvard University scientist and pioneer of nanotechnology, was arrested by the US Investigative Agency. The FBI alleges that Lieber received money from Wuhan University when he was working with Howard University.

Two Chinese students were also arrested when Charles was arrested. These two Chinese students worked as their research assistants. One of the two students was a Chinese Army soldier. The other was caught while he was about to catch a flight to China.

The FBI claims this student also had important biological samples. The amount came as part of China's Thousand Talent Plan, Professor Liber said. Under this program, China runs a project to guide scholars from around the world to their talented students.
