Court orders Nirbhaya perpetrators to be hanged today, halt and wait

Unless the court orders, do not hang it, do not execute the death warrant: Court

New delhi date. January 31, 2020, Friday

The Nirbhaya criminals were to be hanged on Saturday morning on the 1st of February, though this has now been changed for the second time in a row and they will no longer be hanged on Saturday.

The Delhi court, which issued the death warrant, has said that it will not be hanged on Saturday and will not be hanged until the next order is issued by the court. The court has to make this decision as the perpetrators have some legal options left over which they are using.

Before Delhi's Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana, three of the four criminals Pawan, Vinay and Akshay's lawyer AP Singh argued that the three offenders still had legal options like mercy application and curative petition which they wanted to use. They should not be hanged on February 1st and should not be hanged until they have used these options. The court later validated the arguments and has now asked not to be hanged until the next order.

On January 22, criminals were to be hanged on January 22, though a death warrant was issued for hanging on February 1 as alternatives like curative petition and mercy petition were issued, but not all criminals used their legal alternatives, which the court has now pursued. Do not be hanged until you give a fresh execution date.

The lawyer also argued that there are four offenders in a single case; in such a situation, if the mercy petition of one of the four or pending in a petition court, the other offenders of the case could not be hanged at present as it is a rule. Later, the death sentence has been postponed enough and will not be hanged until a new date is announced.

Trust has grown out of the system but don't give up: Nirbhaya's mother

New delhi date. 31

Nirbhaya's offenders resented his mother's change of date of execution. Earlier, Judge Dharmendra Rana of the court had said that the death warrant issued by this court for hanging the offenders is currently delayed and will not be executed till the next date is announced, a copy of this order will be sent to the immediate jail. Authorities and criminals are being reached. However, the mother of Nirbhaya, who demanded that the criminals be hanged, later said, "I will not give up, these criminals have no right to live. We are very disappointed with the system but will not give up."
