Budget 2020: By 2024, the country will get 100 new airports

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget today. Under the Budget Flight Plan, it has announced that 100 airports will be ready in the country by 2024.

A fund of Rs 1.7 lakh crore has been earmarked for transportation infrastructure for the financial year 2020-21. Apart from this, the government is considering running 1,150 trains under PPP mode along with private companies.

Four railway stations will be redeveloped by the private sector. Attempts will be made to connect the main tourist destinations with trains like Tejas.


New recruitment test for non-gadgetary posts will be launched. For this a test center will be established in each district.

The Finance Minister proposed setting up of a National Recruitment Agency. This agency is the only one to conduct recruitment examinations for non-gadgetary posts in each district. For this, aspirants will have to prepare for only one exam.
