Members of the Popular Front of India are also being accused of protesting the CAA and NRC as well as NPR in Uttar Pradesh. Amidst this situation, 108 PFIs have been arrested in four days in the investigative campaign being launched by the state police.

Informing about the arrest, Uttar Pradesh Home Secretary Avinash Kumar said, "This is just the beginning. We will investigate this matter further." Some more may be arrested in the coming days. While DGP Hitesh Avasrathi said that 14 people have been arrested from Lucknow, 21 from Meerut and 20 from Varanasi while others from different sources have been arrested.

Police allege those arrested were opposing the CAA and helping them. Whether these people have provided any financial help or how others have committed the crime is under investigation. ED and other agencies are also getting help in this regard.

Uttar Pradesh police demanded a ban on PFI in December. The PFI was formed in 2006, an organization formed after restrictions on the National Democratic Front.

Agencies are claiming the ideology of these organizations is similar to the boundary. Several arrests have been made during police action against CAA and NRC protesters in Uttar Pradesh.
