Unusual firing of crops on villages and outposts of Jammu and Kashmir border

Pakistan violated the ceasefire on Saturday, targeting villages and forward posts on the control line in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir. However, no fatalities were reported in the shooting.

Indian forces responded strongly to Pakistan. Meanwhile, a Jawan from the Uttarakhand Army who has been serving duty on the control line in Kashmir has been missing for 10 days.

Pakistan violated the ceasefire on Saturday, provoking indiscriminate firing and mortar at the control line in Poonch and Rajouri districts. However, no casualties were reported in the attack, a Defense Department spokesman said.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat visited Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday and urged him to expedite efforts for the safe return of missing Army jawan Rajendra Singh.

Meanwhile, Prince Kumar (25), a soldier on duty in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, shot himself and committed suicide. The cause of Jawan's suicide was not immediately known.
