Sensex rises to 42,000 for the first time

Trade agreements between the United States and China have boomed in stock markets around the world. On Thursday morning, the Sensex and the Nifty for the first time hit the 42,000 mark and the stock market rose 134.58 points. The Nifty was up 32.35 points to reach 12,375.65.

Sensex surged 424 points to 134.56 in the Mumbai stock market, with the world's fastest rising.

The Sensex touched 42,035-05 with a gain of 162.32 at 9-54 this morning while the Nifty was up 12 points at 12,382.30.
