Representatives from 16 countries, including the United States, visit Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar / New Delhi Date: January 9, 2020, Thursday

Representatives from a total of 16 countries, including US Ambassador Ken Juster, were visiting Jammu and Kashmir today.

On August 5 last year, after the cancellation of the 370th Article that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, the Government of India wanted to show the world that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is now normal and calm.

Representatives of 16 countries, including Ken Juster, reached the Jammu and Kashmir stadium on Thursday 9th January. Most opposition parties and some dissidents in the country have been constantly preaching that the Kashmiri people were burning with dissatisfaction with the loss of their special status. The central government wanted to prove that the propaganda was false.

The delegation will discuss with Deputy Governor GC Murmu and some leaders of the society. The delegation included diplomats from the United States, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Norway, South Korea, Morocco, Nigeria and several other countries. Earlier, Brazil also expressed a desire to send its representative. But due to other investments, today's visit will not have a representative from Brazil.

Leaders of some European Union countries demanded that India travel to Jammu and Kashmir on a different day. These people also demanded that Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti talk to former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister. The Indian government was considering the proposal.
