Representatives from 15 countries, including the American Ambassador, met with Army-citizens on a visit to Kashmir

This is a central government campaign: National Conference

New Delhi / Srinagar, Ta. January 9, 2020, Thursday

The government today traveled to Kashmir to delegates from 15 different countries. The 15-member team is comprised of representatives from different countries, including Ambassador Kenneth Gestcher, the US-based ambassador for the two-day tour.

He arrived in Kashmir by chartered plane from Delhi, where he met with the Indian Army for the first time. Since the Army played an important role in the Kashmir regime, the Army had informed the congregation about the status of Kashmir. Members of the European Union refused to be part of this team.

Representatives of the European Union said it was a government trip, so we did not want to join. Indirectly, members of the European Union said that because of the government tour, the government would not show the actual situation which would be good.

This was the first time a Kashmir tour was planned for members of the European Union in October. At that time both the tour and the organizing NGO were criticized. The European Union had already chosen to stay away from the dispute this time. Foreign Ministry Secretary Vikas Patel has also joined the congregations on the Kashmir tour.

While in Srinagar he was welcomed by Lt. Gen. KJS Dhillon. During this visit, he was given an idea of how Pakistan is being interrupted on a daily basis in Kashmir. The congregation was later met by ordinary citizens and is planning more visits.

The Congress, protesting on the issue, said that the government has double standards. The government does not allow Indian politicians to go to Kashmir and meet the leaders of Kashmir. But he calls on foreigners and tries to get his way.

Congressman Jairam Ramesh had opposed the trip at a press conference. Ramesh had said that it does not matter if the foreign body visits Kashmir, but the purpose of the visit should be made clear by the government. Jammu and Kashmir's political party National Conference also objected to the yatra. The conference said that this is a journey to get the government publicized.

The government wants to impose an arrest through the tour that the situation is normal after the removal of Article 370 in Kashmir. In fact, no condition is normal. The foreign ministry defended all such criticism, saying that the tour was organized to show what the government did for the public in Kashmir, for no other purpose.

The delegation also met with the politicians here. He met eight local politicians, including former Kashmir minister Altaf Bukhari. In addition to this, a meeting was held with local players, businessmen, journalists, etc.

Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Ravish Kumar made it clear that for now friends of Europe do not want to join, so a tour will be organized for them in the future.

What countries are involved?

Today's squad includes members of the United States, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Maldives, South Korea, Morocco, Nigeria, Niger, Guyana, Argentina, Philippines, Norway, Fiji, Togo and Peru. In addition, members of Brazil and Uzbekistan were also scheduled to be included in the tour. But at the last moment members of both countries did not join.
