New delhi date. 15 January 2020, Wednesday

Nirbhaya rap accused have been sentenced but the guilty pleas are being made separately. During the hearing on the plea of guilty Mukesh Kumar in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, the court has asked Mukesh's lawyer to go to Patiala House Court. That is, there is no hearing on Mukesh's petition in the High Court. The High Court told the lawyer that if this is the case then you should not apply to the High Court but go to the trial court. You will not go to the Supreme Court directly after the trial court.

The appeal was filed against Mukesh against the death warrant issued by the trial court. During the hearing on Wednesday, the lawyer said that when the trial court ordered the execution on January 7, he did not know about the curative plea and now the situation has changed completely.

During the hearing in the High Court, the Delhi ASG and the Delhi Government lawyer said that Nirbhaya's convicts could not be hanged on January 22. After deciding the mercy petition by the President, the guilty have to be given 14 days.

It is worth mentioning that the trial court had on January 7 pronounced the death warrant of all the four Nirbhaya convicts. A petition was filed by the convicted Mukesh's lawyer against the warrant and it was said to be avoided.
