If there is war between Iran-America, millions of Indians will be airlifted again?

Iran, Ta. Monday 6 January 2020

Currently, the situation between the US and Iran has worsened. The United States has killed Iran's largest military officer with a drone strike. Then there have been rocket attacks on the US Embassy. There are provocative statements from both sides. If the situation does not improve, the situation could get even worse.

A warlike situation may arise in the Persian Gulf. It is also worth considering how this will affect the Indians present. Indians present in Kuwait were airlifted during the 1990 Gulf War. It will be a matter of time now whether India will succeed in bringing its people safe from there.

What is Airlift?

Previously there were plans to send military aircraft ..

Earlier in 1990, the Indian government had planned to send military aircraft to rescue operations, but civil aircraft, which did not receive air-space clearance, were allowed. The Indian government then allowed airlift of Air India and Indian Airlines planes.

The biggest problem was Operation Desert Storm

The US was to launch an Operation Desert Storm against Iraq along with its allies. It was necessary to expel the Indians before this, otherwise the Americans were suspected of being harmed in the attacks. So all the Indians were rescued from there just before the US operation began.

488 flights loaded to rescue 1.75 lakh Indians

The Indians were first brought to Jordan from Kuwait. Because of the fact that not a single city in Kuwait was free from violence and there was a danger to their lives. The distance from Jordan to Mumbai was 4,117 km. For this, Air India and Indian Airlines had a total of about 488 flights between August 18 and August 20, 1990.

Record of the largest rescue

The operation to rescue the Indians from Kuwait lasted for 63 days. It is the longest-running rescue operation and is also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. Akshay Kumar's film Airlift in 2016 was based on this fact.
