After Kerala, Rajasthan and Punjab also passed a proposal against CAA in West Bengal

Calcutta, Ta. 27 January 2020, Monday

A resolution against the revised Citizenship Act (CAA) has also been passed in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly on Monday. With this, West Bengal has now become the fourth state to pass a resolution against the CAA. Earlier, anti-CAA proposals have been passed in the Kerala, Punjab and Rajasthan legislatures.

The proposal presented in the Legislative Assembly appealed to the Central Government to cancel the CAA and implement the NRC and suspend NPR's plan. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in the Legislative Assembly that the performance was not just for minorities but for everyone. I thank the Hindu brothers for their resistance to this movement. In West Bengal we should not allow CAA, NRC, NPR to apply. We will continue the peaceful fight.
