2G internet and broadband service restored in 5 districts of Jammu and Kashmir

In some areas of Jammu and Kashmir, 2G mobile internet service has been restored after about 5 months. However, this service will only be available on postpaid mobile. In addition, broadband service for hotels, hospitals and travel agencies has also been launched.

On Tuesday evening, the administration ordered it to be implemented on January 15. This facility will be available in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur and political districts. The administration also said in its order that 2G and broadband internet facilities have been restored in Jammu area for 7 days.

The Department of the Interior said in its order that Internet service providers will provide broadband facilities to essential services such as institutions, hostels, banks, government offices. Broadband Internet hotels and travel establishments will be provided for the convenience of tourism.

Internet will be banned in the remaining districts

The order also states that 2G mobile connectivity will be allowed on post-paid mobiles to view secure websites including e-banking in Samba, Kathua, Udhampur and Riyasi in the Jammu area. In other districts, mobile Internet service will be banned right now.
