200 people ask for Congress ticket

The capital city was in the throes of a New Delhi assembly election. At least 200 leaders and activists claimed to get Congress party tickets.

According to the Opinion poll conducted earlier, BJP was more likely to suffer losses in Delhi as in Jharkhand. At the Congress headquarters on Tuesday, ticket holders rushed from morning to evening at the office on the Dayal Dayal Upadhyay Road.

Delhi Pradesh Congress president Subhash Chopra claimed that the Congress party's position in Delhi was strong and there was a rush to get the Congress ticket. He also claimed that activists and leaders of other parties were also coming to join the Congress.

Speaking about Opinion Paul, Chopra said that was not credible. You see that Haryana was behaving till the next day of the assembly elections that the Congress would get three seats in cash. But when the results came, Opinion Paul proved wrong.

He expressed optimism that the Congress would get more seats in Delhi than Haryana and other parties would have to seek Congress' help in forming a government.
